Oh, Mother
Earth!
All your flowers so
beautiful!
Your children so
lovely,
A riot of fun on
the ground!
Charming Sun rises
once more,
An éclat in sunset
for an encore—
Intersperse
rainbows of hope!
Rabbits and deer spring
With butterflies in
tow,
Merrily they tickle
your flesh.
Beaming youth raise
rosy curtains.
And finally million good souls
Sing their hearts
out in applause
For renting your
bosom for free.
With them I bow at
your feet
And salute on this
Earth Day;
Another tenant begging you,
