Ass
is not democracy but two legged
To
be an ass law has four legs.
Ass
or not it got four legs;
To
see us on our toes, on our two legs
To
be led up the garden path.
The
State is always in a motion as a nation.
Blame
not its sloppiness lest the order disturbs!
Who
on earth wants law to do overtime?
Neither
the criminals nor the State do.
We
are all those middle-class
And
expect justice do overtime,
Hoping
its way to prevail with deterrence
But
only on our middle class rivals!
Alas,
Justice grinds its wheels tirelessly slow
As
democracy is far and off and goes by.
But
we, the tireless masses, favor positions to masters,
For
mere crumbs as a quid pro quo to franchise,
As
they go laughing all the way the (Swiss) bank.
We
know not where we are hit on the morrow.
Suffer,
We, The People,
Make
and break to our own making.
We
give license to our bureaucrats to draft laws complex,
Legislators
to make the prepared rules as if by party Whip,
And
executive seals on the dotted lines.
And
Judiciary always there, only blindfolded,
See
the written law is obeyed, right or not.
Tyrant
legislators, complacent executive and indifferent judiciary
Make
those three legs; keep the lawful in the goals and lawless out.
The
crafty flourishes within the bounds of law
Glorified
as entrepreneurs, nicknamed bulls and bears,
Paid
by us, the gullible, as rich dividends in shares, for their machinations,
Make
Peter rob, again pay back to Peter, but not Paul.
Our
economy is technically world class and people are so regional.
We
pay taxes at multilevel, besides on each thing we buy,
With
what is left of the paycheck after cruel taxes,
Least
affect the sops called the thrift.
Think,
who gets away in all these deals? The business class?
Yes.
Seldom it shows income and deal only in black?
Helped
out by the corrupt officials and unwary customer,
Finally,
the omniscient politician loots all of us.
Leave
the politician, makes hay whether it shines or rains.
Outside
the job he is back to his nasty goings-on,
Inciting
rift and reaping by handfuls,
Gains,
be it he or she, in development as well as misery.
Justice
delayed is justice denied; hurried it is buried.
Is
there any justice outside the enacted laws?
In
the equity or good conscience any solace?
We
grab what lofty Judges hand out,
Be
it unchained by precedents of older peers.
If
the poor litigant has anything left to lie about;
Again
justice has to be bought at a premium.
When
delivered ultimately, the result is stillborn,
What
with cases adjourned eternally on pointless trivia.
Our
professionals feign and flaunt good old skills and wits,
Those
self-perpetuating class keep boasting all the way,
With
flamboyant profiles, reluctant to kill golden geese,
The
sick and old across the divides succumb ultimately.
Police
are shunned like a plague, thanks to legacy foreign,
Fed
by everyone as they can grow on anything,
Forget
any opposition from us, the commoners.
Yet,
they are unchallenged by all the three legs,
Save
Mafia and brigands.
Now,
look at the new terror off religion, the fourth leg!
Free
opium of the society and politics or say energy drink;
The
panacea knowing no laws,
God's
very own writ and order!!!
Who
can save us from Democracy Deified?
Who
dares to defy this fourth leg so undefined?
Will
our Intellectuals, the media or Diaspora throw the first stone?
Again
God only can save us from all these legs
To
let us stand on our own two legs, reason and decency!
